Paul McIntyre steps down as AdNews editor-in-chief

Trade title AdNews’s long serving editor-in-chief Paul McIntyre has stepped down from the post, although he will continue his 17-year association with the title in the new role of contributing editor.

McIntyre’s column did not appear in today’s new edition of the magazine. Editor Rosie Baker told readers: “He’s taken on a contributing editor role and will keep contributing editorially, and strategically to the print magazine, our website and events.

“He’ll continue to be a force to be reckoned with – he’ll just spend even less time in the AdNews offices.”

McIntyre also contributes to Fairfax Media’s Australian Financial Review.

The move is not the only one in the the media and marketing trade press in recent days. B&T magazine has appointed Nikki Waldegrave as its new associate editor following the departure of Brooke Hemphill, and John Bastick as online editor.

Waldegrave has previously worked for Pacific Magazines in Australia and the News of the World and Daily Mirror in the UK, while Bastick was previously editor of financial trade title The Adviser and is a former editor-in-chief of FHM.
