Santa Apprentice wins Unicef Annecy Award

Australian/French Coproduction, Santa Apprentice, a children’s animated feature has won the UNICEF Award at the Annecy International Animation Festival in France. Annecy is the largest animation event in the world.

Santa Apprentice, about a seven year old Nicolas learning the ropes to be the best Santa ever, stars Magda Szubanski, Delta Goodrem, Shane Jacobsen and Hugh Sheridan.

The film is directed by Luc Vinciguerra, script Alexandre Reverend and based on an original concept by Jan Van Rijsselberge .

Released last year in France, the film sold 100,000 tickets in the first week and 650,000 over the life of the release.  Santa’s Apprentice made over 3.2 million Euros at the French box office ranking 4th in its first week.  Santa’s Apprentice has already been sold to many countries including Austria, Canada, Greece, India, Russia and the United States of America.
