Southern Cross Austereo marks 20th year of kids charity
Southern Cross Austereo launches the 20th year of its Give Me 5 for Kids charity in hospitals across Australia.
The release:
Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) is proud to launch the 20th year of its annual charity initiative, Give Me 5 for Kids, which raises money to support children’s wards throughout local hospitals across regional Australia.
Last year, Give Me 5 for Kids raised an incredible national tally of almost $2.5 million, via the combined efforts of SCA’s regional radio and television stations, along with significant support from local communities.
Throughout its 20 years, Give Me 5 for Kids has raised more than $12 million for over 40 children’s hospital wards across the country; all of which began in the 1990s as a simple coin drive. This year, SCA is more dedicated than ever to ensure it continues to give regional Australians the opportunity to contribute to this heartfelt campaign, and make a difference to the hospitals that care for children.
Southern Cross Austereo CEO Rhys Holleran said: “We’re thrilled to launch Give Me 5 for Kids again this year. Proudly, it’s an initiative the company started two decades ago that’s grown into a charity that genuinely makes a difference. We look forward to it gaining even more momentum this year and hope Give Me 5 for Kids continues to contribute in a significant way to local communities and hospitals for 20 years to come.”
