TorchMedia has hired former Roy Morgan research account manager Nicola Akom as a marketing and commercial executive.

The announcement:

As TorchMedia kicks off a new year following a stellar year of growth and expansion in 2013, they have appointed Nicola Akom as their new Marketing and Commercial Executive. Nicola comes to TorchMedia after 18 months at Roy Morgan Research.

Previously an Account Manager at Roy Morgan, Nicola brings a new set of skills to Australia’s only out-of-home media specialist. This new role will see Nicola heading up some of TorchMedia’s various research projects and campaigns, which focus on shedding light on underutilised out-of-home advertising spaces, such as in-store and on transport.

TorchMedia has been putting an increased emphasis on their research projects over the past few years, each focusing on a specific area of consumer behaviour in different environments such as Pharmacy (Project Rx), Frozen Grocery (Project Siberia) and most recently, Commuter (Project Toot Toot).

Kirsty Dollisson, GM of TorchMedia, says her broad understanding of the out of home space coupled with her exceptional researching skills will help the company execute more innovative and informative research projects.

“Nicola has a great mind for the research we are focusing on,” said Dollisson. “We are looking for more ways to prove that the out-of-home formats are exceptional at gaining results and Nicola has proved that she is more than capable of bringing results outside the box.”

Nicola will start with TorchMedia immediately based in their Sydney office.
