Women’s clothes brand Moga celebrates diversity for Australia Day

Women’s shawl and headscarf brand, Moga, is celebrating Australia’s diversity with a social-driven campaign for Australia Day featuring yellow and green scarves.

The campaign, which promotes a similar message to Meat and Livestock Australia’s Australia Day ad, features four females with different backgrounds wearing the scarves in a way that represents their identity.

Created by Azahn Munas, Moga’s founder and creative director, the images were shot and produced with no budget, with Munas utilising friendships rather than sourcing models to feature in the campaign.

Like the MLA, Munas said he chose to leave out the words ‘Australia Day’, as he feels the message is timeless and shouldn’t be restricted to one day.

The images were shot in Melbourne’s Federation Square by photographer Michaela Barca, and feature women with Aboriginal, Vietnamese, Anglo-Saxon and Somalian background.

The campaign will run through unpaid social from the eve of Australia Day.

Moga currently donates 20% of its profits to enable young girls to attend secondary schools in regions where women are not given equal learning opportunities.
