Miguel Monteiro
I come from Lisbon, Portugal and its explorer culture runs in my veins. I was also lucky enough to have a flight attendant as a mother. Traveling with my family, I have visited all five continents. I have been to tropical countries like Brazil and Venezuela but also to more remote places like Senegal and Egypt.
?After turning 20 I went on my first solo venture ? a European Inter-rail with three friends. ?For the first time I had to truly make it on my own and I loved it.?
By the time I finished my University Bachelor, at the age of 23, I already knew that I wanted to move abroad. I signed up for an internship program and got placed in London, UK. I lived there for a year, visiting other European countries every other weekend. ?
I then decided it was time to go further.
?I enrolled in the PR and Advertising Masters Degree at UNSW and moved to Sydney. Having been here for almost two years, I never thought I would feel at home being on the opposite side of the globe. ?
The most decisive moment since I have started my Advertising path was graduating and being Highly Commended from DMCS 2011. It was an enlightening experience from which I learned immensely and discovered my true calling – Copywriting.
