Insight: The Film Businss
This month we are thrilled to introduce our Insight cast: an Actor, a Director, and a Producer take the stage to discuss their individual career arc as well as the broader Australian film industry. We will also be focusing on the changing nature of film – as we embrace diversity, shame lecherous producers, and deal with important themes and stories.
Brooke Satchwell, Actor: Brooke has starred in some of Australia’s most loved TV programs (such as Water Rats, Packed To The Rafters, and Wonderland), stage (Vagina Monologues, The Play That Goes Wrong), and also been a regular guest panellist (Dirty Laundry Live, Good News Week).
Ben Briand, Director: Ben is a film director working across narrative and commercial disciplines. He has directed projects featuring Gal Gadot, Cate Blanchett, Rose Byrne and Jackie Weaver, and commercial projects for brands Apple, Qantas, LGBT Association, Oroton, and Asahi.
Bridget Ikin, Producer: Bridget has produced award-winning films, short films, documentaries and moving image projects over many years in both Australia and New Zealand. Just last month Bridget received an honorary degree – Doctor of Arts, Film and Television today – from AFTARS in recognition of her significant contribution to the screen industry.
