Starcom MediaVest Group has appointed Andy Taylor as national investment director, replacing Nicole Turley who left in December of 2013.

Taylor, who was most recently at OMD New Zealand as trading director, more than 20 years of media agency trading and sales having previously worked at Aegis in the UK and also The Mail on Sunday and Titan Outdoor.

Starcom MediaVest Group CEO Chris Nolan said the 10 month search for the position was extensive: “We took the time to find the right candidate for this role and we’ve found this in Andy.”

“(He) brings a wealth of experience in the investment discipline, having worked with agency and publishers, we are really excited to have him join the team. I’m sure he will provide huge benefits for our clients.”

Taylor said he was look forward to working with SMG’s CEO Chris Nolan and also Starcom’s MD Annick Perrin and Mediavest’s MD Sue Kallas, following the group’s recent structural separation into the two agencies.

“It was an easy decision. After lengthy discussions with Chris and Annick [Perrin] it was clear that we share the same passion, excitement, energy and values. I am excited by the challenge and look forward to meeting and working with the team,” said Taylor.

The appointment comes comes off the back of successful new business year, as Mumbrella revealed, in the last few weeks the media agency has won both Treasury Wine Estates and Seek.com.au.

Earlier this week, it also retained Samsung following a global media review which saw the agency go head to head with MEC to retain the account.
