Group buying site Love it Up launches with charity promise
Yet another group buying site today launched in Australia, with Love It Up claiming as its point of difference that it shares its spoils with Australian charities.
The website keeps track on its home page of how much has been raised. Since launching earlier today, the tally stands at $19 at the time of writing.
Co-founder Tee-Jay Ramnarain-Little said in a launch announcement: “As a group our main motivator for entering this now busy market is to create a platform which enables online consumers to take advantage of never before seen deals from some of the Australia’s best establishments while giving back to the community’.
Among the charities Love it Up lists as partners are Barnardos, The Starlight Children’s Foundation, McGrath Foundation, Cerebral Palsy Foundation and Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors.

I like it how they stipulate commission to charity varies between 5 – 10%… Come on “Love it Up” show some love and commit to 10% of every sale!!

I think the extra 5% is up to the business with the deal that day…

5 or 10%, I still think whatever the amount its good to see a portion going to charities.

Sounds alot like Lime&Tonic Prague which has been doing this since its launch last year. They work with local charities and although they don’t display the amount raised so far they publicly say they are giving 10% of their take to each featured charity of the week. Pretty cool!

Its nice to see a company that isn’t greedy, I know that 5 or 10% is a good chunk when it gets into the big bucks as alot of these discount companies have already earned. I think I would rather buy from a company when I know some of the money is going to important charities.

I think this is a great idea to donate some of the profits to charity, every little bit helps, and it’s great how you can see how much has being raised already!! Go Love It Up! I am loving it!

The non-cynic in me likes the charity connection, I’d say a 10% donation across the board might be a bit nicer though 🙂
