Big Brother scores viewers with Tully Smyth eviction but AFL Brownlows win for Seven
The eviction of DDB Sydney’s social media strategist Tully Smyth from the Big Brother house rated 932,000 for Channel Nine, making it the top entertainment show of the night, according to preliminary overnight ratings from OzTam.
Smyth, 25, left the house unaware of the social media backlash that has stirred against her including a hate campaign that has gained traction on social media during her eight weeks in the house.
Big Brother was the fourth program overall and the top rated program among people 25-54.
However in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, the Brownlow Medal awards ceremony celebrating the last year of the AFL was the top rated show.
Coverage broadcast live on Channel Seven was not included in the TV schedules in Sydney and Brisbane, but scored 930,000 viewers overall. The Brownlow Medal was the fifth program for the night and second in 25-54s, while red carpet arrivals started at 7.30pm had 683,000 viewers in the three cities. Coverage of the event also scored 200,000 viewers for Fox Footy making it the top-rated show on subscription TV.
Also in the 7.30pm timeslot was ABC1’s 7.30, which had 815,000 viewers making it ninth for the night, and Australian Story, which had 833,000 viewers at 8pm.

Channel Ten’s top show for the night was The Project, which had 583,000 total viewers at 6.30pm and was tenth in 25-54s.
While Today Tonight on Channel Seven at 6.30pm was seventh overall with 855,000 viewers, it was not shown in Perth.

The battle between Seven and Nine’s competing evening gameshows remains close in the 5.30pm timeslot, with Seven’s new Grant Denyer-fronted show Million Dollar Minute, launched last Monday, just ahead of Channel Nine’s Hot Seat with 583,000 viewers, just above 579,000 for Nine.
And in the morning battle Seven’s Sunrise celebrated a victory over Nine’s Today last night with a total audience of 357,000 while Today had 281,000, but still won in Sydney.

Tully Smyth is hot…
Ill miss her 🙁

I think DDB should drop her as a Social Media media strategist – “left the house unaware of the social media backlash that has stirred against her including a hate campaign that has gained traction on social media during her eight weeks in the house.” Sounds like she does not know anything about marketing it seems!!
At least skanky guys and gals can lust over her via social media?
