9Life’s Talking Married pulls 90,000 metro viewers for second season
The second season of 9Life’s chat show, Talking Married, averaged 90,000 metro viewers, down on last year’s premiere audience of 152,000.
Talking Married is a half hour weekly chat show which runs at 9pm on 9Life and 9Now, and is based on content from Nine’s Married at First Sight. It is hosted by Jayne Azzopardi and 9Honey columnist, Shelly Horton. This week Ben Fordham joined the chat show.
Last year I said on Twitter that I should be on #TalkingMarried because I’ve got just as many opinions on #MAFS than anyone else. Someone took it seriously and now look what’s happening. I’m about to go into bat for Broxy the best man. Don’t @ me people. pic.twitter.com/9bz8dDoH2A

Its audience was not as big as 10Bold’s repeat of NCIS: Los Angeles, which pulled 139,000 from 8:30pm, or 9Go’s Ocean’s Eleven, which managed 132,000 metro viewers. But when including regional figures, the program cracked more than 100,000 viewers, reaching a national audience of 129,000.
On Nine’s main channel, Married at First Sight was the most watched show of the night, with 1.027m metro viewers, a stronger result than Seven’s My Kitchen Rules and Ten’s I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. Married at First Sight also topped all key advertising demographics, and rose to an audience of 1.359m nationally.
MKR averaged 789,000 metro viewers for the episode which ran from 7pm, and grew to 1.197m for a national perspective. Ten’s I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here managed 569,000 metro viewers and a national audience of 819,000.
Seven took the lead in news and current affairs with its 6pm bulletin capturing 965,000 metro viewers. By comparison, Nine News achieved 913,000 metro viewers.
As anticipated by Nine and Seven, the strength of reality TV shows Married at First Sight and MKR has impacted on Ten. Last night Ten finished the evening behind the ABC, with a share of 10.8%. Nine led the evening with a 23.3% share of audience, beating Seven’s 20.4%, but ABC came in third on a 12% share. SBS’ share was just 5.8%.
When counting multi-channels, Network Ten and ABC Network tied in third place – with a 16.4% share of audience each. Nine Network extended its lead to 30.9% of audience, while Seven Network’s audience share was 28.4%. SBS Network had a share of 7.8%.
Please have Ben Fordham as part of the Talking Married team on a permanent basis, he was great on Wed.
