Seachange and The Block drive Nine to a comfortable Tuesday night win
The ongoing popularity of The Block and a reliable performance from Seachange has driven Nine to another win on Tuesday night, taking a comfortable 21.4% audience share as a channel above Seven’s 15.9% and Ten’s 15.1%.
883,000 metro viewers tuned in for The Block, making it the most-watched entertainment program of the evening, while Nine’s Seachange reboot delivered 548,000.
Seven News was the most-watched overall with 966,000 metro viewers compared to Nine News’ 929,000. Home and Away was the most-watched entertainment program for Seven with 629,000 metro viewers. The channel also launched its latest attempts at a romance-based reality show, The Proposal, to a dismal 307,000 metro viewers.
In the key advertising demographics – 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54 – Ten’s Australian Survivor held the top spot, followed by The Block in all three. Overall, 804,000 metro viewers tuned in for Survivor.
In the same 7:30pm slot, Seven’s Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly brought in 463,000.
609,000 metro viewers tuned in for ABC News, followed by 500,000 metro for 7.30. ABC’s next most-watched was Old People’s Home For 4 Year Olds with 478,000. Overall, ABC drew an 11.5% audience share.
In the network audience share, Nine took the top spot with 29.1%, followed by Seven’s 26.0% and Ten’s 21.4%. ABC held 15.8%. Ten Bold was the most-watched multi-channel with 3.8%.
