Agency claims to have lock on legal street poster sites
Ambient agency Media Tree has rolled out a series of street poster sites which it says brands can use legally.
According to a release from the company: “We now service a massive 230 sites (110 legal and 120 tolerated) across the Sydney metro and greater areas. In extending our coverage, Media Tree is the only company with legal posting rights in the Sydney City, Northern and Shire precincts.”
Street posters, along with other ambient activities such as pavement marking, are an increasingly controversial marketing strategy. However, several brands still make use of illegal street posters.
Most of the ambient media companies claim they have exclusive legal street posters.
How about proving it? A letter from City of Sydney council maybe?

We have worked with Media Tree on a number of campaigns and they always 1) state up-front that we need to abide by the rules and regulations of all councils, and 2) think outside the square to find a new solution that will get our campaign to stand out amongst the clutter – which is why they have manged to get these new formats of media.

It would be interesting to know which other agencies claim to have legal street poster sites. We’ve used Mediatree’s legal posting service for several years now and had only good experiences btw.
