Ausfilm report: ScreenSingapore

Singapore is building the huge MediapolisAusfilm represented the Australian film industry at Expo@ScreenSingapore – the trade show portion of the inaugural ScreenSingapore industry event – which took place from  June 7 to 9, targeting filmmakers and industry representatives in the Asia-Pacific region.

Ausfilm met with a number of industry representatives from across the region to help position Australia as a premier filmmaking location and leader in post-production and Australians as co-production partners.

Ausfilm’s CEO, Debra Richards, attended the ScreenSingapore Film Finance Forum along with Ausfilm’s Chair, Alaric McAusland, CEO of Screen West, Ian Booth and other select Ausfilm members including Screen Australia’s Head of Investment, Ross Matthews and Christopher Mapp of Omnilab who both presented during the Film Finance Forum.

As the inaugural event, it is impressive that ScreenSingapore managed to attract some high-profile panellists and individuals from across the region to the Forum but overall the traffic at the Expo was sporadic. However due to the strong continent of Australians at the event and productive one on one meetings with industry leaders, Australia was well represented at the event and positioned as a leader of the screen industry within the region.
