CommBank honours grass roots football in new Matildas brand sponsorship campaign
As the FIFA Women’s World Cup approaches, Commonwealth Bank has unveiled its new brand sponsorship campaign with the CommBank Matildas, via creative agency GHO Sydney.
The campaign, titled ‘For All the Goals We Share’, aims to celebrate women’s football at every level – from grass roots to professional.
Featuring Matildas captain Sam Kerr and teammates Courtney Nevin, Tameka Yallop and Claire Polkinghorne, as well as young football players and community members, the spot highlights different goals they want to achieve.
Commonwealth Bank general manager of brand and sponsorships, Dianne Everett, said: “We couldn’t be prouder to showcase our continued support for women’s football. This campaign brings together months of work from an incredible team who are dedicated to helping people achieve their goals.
“Now, we get to enjoy a month of celebration as we support the CommBank Matildas.”
The campaign will see the brand’s first ever 3D out of home (OOH) execution.
Eithne McSwiney, GHO Sydney manager director, said: “We want this campaign to really resonate with everyone who’s connected to the game of football; the players, the supporters, the families on the sidelines and the community coaches.
“We’re so excited to help CommBank tell their story of support for women’s football as we chase our shared goal of growing the game for all Australians,” she concluded.
It will roll out across TV, 3DOOH, OOH, radio, digital and social.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup kicks off Thursday 20 July, and the official Sydney FIFA Fan Festival will run alongside at Tumbalong Park, featuring a number of brand activations, including CommBank’s ‘train like a Matilda’.
