Compare the Market’s Aleksandr and Sergei offer energy-bill-saving advice in new campaign
Everyone’s favourite meerkat duo, Compare The Market’s Aleksandr and Sergei, have returned to help Aussies save money on their energy bills in a new campaign.
The ‘One Click’ Colin’ campaign is the newest addition to Compare The Market’s ‘Meerkat Motivationals’ series – an initiative designed to inform Australians of where their finance practices could be improved.
In this instalment of the campaign, which is also being rolled out alongside the re-launch of the finance comparison website’s “fully-online comparison tool”, aristocratic Aleksandr and his sidekick Sergei advise family man ‘Colin’ on how he can save money on his electricity and gas bills, without having to sacrifice his household’s usage of them in the process.
“Don’t just switch off to save, switch over,” they explain to Colin.
While the campaign delivers the signature cheekiness of Aleksandr and Sergei, the message behind it is vital, explained Compare the Market’s chief marketing officer, Andrew Holt.
“Alarmingly, 8 in 10 Australians we recently surveyed said they haven’t switched energy plans in the last 12 months, meaning they could be missing out on cheaper prices for the same gas and electricity supply,” said Holt.
“We know that the household budget has taken a beating over the past couple of years and one way that Australians may be able to claw back cash is by switching to a cheaper energy plan.
“As Aleksandr and Sergei say, don’t just switch off to save, switch over.”
Having launched this week, ‘One Click Colin’ will play across a variety of channels: Online video, radio, out-of-home, TV and BVOD.
