Elijah Wood to star in US Wilfred
Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings) has been confirmed to star in the pilot for the US remake of Renegade Films’ TV comedy Wilfred, for pay TV network FX.
Wood will play the role of Ryan, the American counterpart of Adam Zwar’s character Adam – the human who starts a relationship with Wilfred’s owner and becomes the dog’s nemesis.
Writer/producer Jason Gann has been conducting screen tests in Los Angeles alongside executive producer David Zuckerman. Gann played Wilfred in the Australian series that aired on SBS in 2007 and earlier this year, and will reprise the role in the American version, keeping his Australian accent.
