Good Return in push around Women’s Day

PR agency Porter Novelli is behind a campaign for charity Good Return around International Women’s Day – which is today.

Using online, radio, PR and social media, the charity is asking Australians to support women living in poverty in Asia Pacific countries by making a loan – from $25 or more – to help them start or build a business.

Mum bloggers are also running posts that mention the charity, and MindFood and Woman’s Day are running related feature articles online.

Good Return is hoping to fully fund 200 women in March with a campaign called ‘Connecting Women, Building Better Futures’.

Last year, the charity gunned for a target of funding 100 women in a month – but managed to fund 145.

Di Bowles, director of marketing and fundraising at Good Return, said, “Good Return delivers the powerful combination of microfinance and education to help poor women increase their incomes and change their lives forever.”

“Starting from as little as $25, lenders can choose who they want to help by logging on to our website and reading the stories of the women applying for loans. When the woman repays her loan, the lenders can either choose to get their money back or they can relend again and again – helping even more women out of poverty. To date, we have a 100% repayment rate.”
