Music streaming platform Pandora appoints Carat as media agency

Music streaming platform Pandora has appointed Carat as its new media agency after a competitive five way pitch, Mumbrella can reveal.

The appointment comes after the music company put its account to pitch in early February, with incumbent Bohemia involved in the pitch process.

Sally Kiernan, Pandora Group marketing director ANZ, said: “A key priority for our media agency partner is to devise a strategy and planning approach that fuels our next phase of growth across Australia and New Zealand.

“Carat is a high calibre agency that demonstrated passion for our brand and business, they’re the right fit to work alongside us as we realise our growth ambitions across these two key markets.

“We’ve enjoyed some great successes with the team at Bohemia and I want to thank them for their hard work. We wish them well.”

For Bohemia the loss follows on from being acquired by M&C Saatchi last month and losing Quick Service Restaurants, Lion and Vodafone last year.

Bohemia’s other clients include: News.com.au, Ubank, Best & Less and Twitter.

Paul Brooks, CEO of Carat, said: “There was a great synergy between our two teams from the first time we presented to Pandora, so we’re thrilled to be working with the team to continue building the brand and business and to be part of Pandora’s ambitions in this region.”

Carat’s other accounts include: Adidas, Australian Super, Carsales.com.au, Cadbury, Medibank and David Jones.
