Tilt Brush Tournament

The Tournament

Are you the Picasso of the Tilt Brush? The Gogh of Virtual Reality? Or the da Vinci of 3D design?

Academy Xi has partnered with ACMI X and Melbourne VR Meetup to bring you our first ever Tilt Brush Tournament! On December 14th, test out your Virtual Reality artistic abilities to go in the running to win one of four Tilt Brush prizes.

But remember, although this is a “tournament,” it’s really just a chance to have fun, get creative, and explore the wonderful world of Virtual Reality. As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so while there are winners for each category, every work of art is a winner in our eyes.

How It Works

Artists will have three minutes to draw their masterpiece with one of our HTC Vives. Flat screen TVs will showcase each creation being built in real-time, so the audience can watch our artists runaway with their imagination, stroke by stroke.

Each masterpiece will be saved and reviewed by our expert judging panel, who will award prizes based on an artists design, skills, imagination, and innovation.

Judging Criteria

1. Tilt Brush Top-Dog: Awarded to the overall Tilt Brush Picasso! Our judges will be looking for the 3D masterpiece that exhibits creativity, imagination, innovation, and skill.

2. Tilt Brush X Factor: For the creation that really wows our judges. This prize will be awarded to the most amazing piece of art. Judges will be looking out for jaw-dropping designs.

3. Tilt Brush Trailblazer: Awarded to the most innovative use of Tilt Brush tools. Think outside-the-box to show the judges what type of 3D magic you can create. We’re encouraging you to march (or paint) to the beat of your own drum.

4. Tilt Brush Famous: Awarded by you: the people. Each competing artist will upload their artwork to their Facebook page, giving their social network the chance to vote for their favourite. The artwork with the most “likes” wins.
