Cartology makes 2 appointments, launches strategic partnership team

Woolworths’ media business Cartology has promoted Martin Wood to head of strategic partnerships and Matt Gower has been appointed senior manager of research and insights.

Wood will lead the newly created strategic partnerships team.

Wood was promoted from his position as senior product manager – DOOH at Cartology, which he joined in July 2020. Wood oversaw the rollout of the digital screen network across Woolworths Group stores. He will report to Nancy Veart, head of client partnerships and sales at Cartology.

Matt Gower

Gower joins the business from freelancing as a research, media and marketing strategy consultant. Prior to freelancing, Gower was at News Corp Australia as its national head of research, which he left in April 2020. Gower will report to Jodie Koning, head of marketing and insights at Cartology.

Miky Tyquin, managing director at Cartology, said: “As we come to the end of our second year in operation, we’re thrilled to be creating a new team to serve the growing demand we’re seeing from leading FMCG brands.

“Although the business is still young, we’re proud to be helping our team members grow their careers with Cartology and Martin’s promotion to head of strategic partnerships is testament to his talent and the opportunities we want to create for media professionals.”

Iain Shedden, head of Woolworths at Nestlé, added: “As the leader of a team that works across multiple categories and brands, it is great to see the appointment of Martin and the creation of a team that will drive improved efficiency between Cartology, Woolworths and Nestlé.

“This will allow us to improve the quality of our brand activations within Woolworths and drive greater strategic alignment across all consumer touchpoints.”

In April this year, Cartology announced the expansion of its media offering.

In October last year, Cartology appointed Christiaan Rutten as director of operations.
