One of the most respected digital creatives in Australia Jay Morgan has left Havas Worldwide Sydney to join J. Walter Thompson as group digital creative director.

Morgan joins JWT after nearly three years at Havas as digital creative director, where he was the driving force behind the internationally awarded Durex Fundawear campaign.

Havas Worldwide CEO Anthony Gregorio said the agency is in the process of hunting for Morgan’s replacement.

“It’s a good opportunity for him and he’s someone I’m fond of. I’ve worked with him for a while now. Jay’s great, he’s very good at what he does. He’s a top bloke to boot, a very decent human being so I’m sure he’ll do very well there,” he told Mumbrella.

The Fundawear campaign for Durex, a campaign which saw the agency build underwear able to receive touch signals from a mobile phone.

Morgan also worked on the agency’s campaign for Sony’s new ultra high definition televisions which saw Australians given new experiences. Last year he was also chosen as a judge on the Mobile jury at the Cannes Lions festival.

A J. Walter Thompson spokesperson told Mumbrella: “J.Walter Thompson can confirm the hire of Jay Morgan as Group Digital Creative Director.  As part of the appointment, he will oversee all creative digital output.”
