Adelaide radio ratings: Triple M, Mix 102.3 neck-and-neck for the top spot

Triple M has remained the top radio station in Adelaide with its overall share of the market increasing from 12% to 12.4%, according to the third GfK Radio 360 survey of 2023.

Second placed Mix 102.3 remained steady at 12.1% overall share, while third placed Nova 91.9 dipped from 11.3% to 10.7%.

Triple M continues to reign supreme in breakfast, with hosts Roo, Ditts & Loz taking more market share, up from 14.2% in survey two to 15.1%. Nova Entertainment’s FIVEaa remains in second spot but has lost 1.1 percentage points, with Breakfast with David Penberthy & Will Goodings seeing its market share drop from 13.6% to 12.5%.

ABC Adelaide’s Breakfast with Stacey Lee and Nikolai Beilharz now sits firmly in third at 11.1%, up 0.7 percentage points. SAFM’s Bec and Soda Breakfast show saw the biggest drop of 2.4%, dropping from third place to sixth.

In drive, Nova 91.9’s national Ricki-Lee, Tim & Joel show is still at the top at 13%, but also saw the biggest decline of 1.6 percentage points. Mix 102.3’s Will & Woody leapfrogged to second place to 12.4%, up 2 percentage points, ahead of Triple M’s The Rush Hour with Bernie, Blewey & Jars at 11.6%.

SAFM’s Carrie and Tommy show came in fourth place at 10.5%, down 0.4 percentage points from 10.9%, while Cruise 1323’s Craig Huggins moved up to fifth place at 8%, up 1.1 percentage points from 6.9%.

The current survey also debuts a more detailed breakdown of streaming numbers, which are still included in the overall results but provide an insight into the performance of each network’s streaming strategies.

The streaming share for breakfast in survey three was:

  • ABC Adelaide: 20.1%
  • FIVEaa: 18.2%
  • Triple M: 13.9%
  • Cruise 1323: 11.3%
  • Mix 102.3: 5.8%

The overall streaming share was:

  • Cruise 1323: 13%
  • FIVEaa: 12.1%
  • ABC Adelaide: 10.8%
  • Triple M: 10.5%
  • Mix 102.3: 8.1%

This survey period ran from 26 February to 1 April and 16 April to 20 May 2023.
