Audi set to introduce new EV in Australia, features Aussie icon in launch campaign

Audi has launched a new campaign to showcase its brand new Q4 e-tron vehicle featuring Aussie surf icon Stephanie Gilmore, via Sydney-based creative agency WolfKing.

The campaign continues Audi’s global narrative of ”Progress You Can Feel’, championing the automotive brand’s efforts in investing in electric vehicle and transportation.

Gilmore, an eight times world champion, and Audi ambassador, was the “natural choice” for launching the campaign in the Australian market, as she speaks to the notion that progress is driven by desire, which perfectly aligns with Audi, according to the brand.

“The Q4 e-tron is an incredibly important vehicle for Audi. We’re excited to be launching such a luxuriously appointed small all-electric SUV to the Australian market,” said Audi Australia’s marketing communications lead, Kit Bashford.

“And who better than Stephanie to launch this stunning vehicle. She is an outstanding athlete who performs at the highest level but who is also down-to-earth and genuine, someone every Australian can relate to.”

The spot was directed by Ben Briand from Collider, who previously worked with WolfKing on Audi’s ‘Scary Beautiful’ campaign last year.

Jason Woelfl, creative partner at the agency, said: “We’re incredibly proud of this commercial. Ben and the team did a beautiful job of taking us inside Stephanie’s mind while also capturing the incredible parallels between Steph and the Q4 e-tron perfectly.”

The global campaign series also features British Bridgerton actor Regé-Jean Page and American journalist, author and television host Elaine Welteroth.

The new work is set to launch in May, with the vehicle launching later this year.
