Bastion Collective launches podcast series

Bastion Collective has launched its own podcast series, ‘Life Collective – How to make life work’.

The announcement:

Bastion Collective Embraces Podcast Mania

Podcasts are the content paradox of our time. Longer form audio content was supposed to be thrown out with the transistor radio as the world raced towards watching everything
on bigger and then smaller and then, again, bigger devices for increasingly shorter periods of time.

But not only have they survived this cut-throat environment for competing mediums, they are thriving. The intimate, accessible and mobile nature of the medium, combined with the ability
to multi-task whilst listening to your favourite show, has seen the Podcast defy the premature predictions of its demise.

Australian audience’s thirst for the format is reflected in our ranking as having the fourth-highest consumption rate in the world.

It has become an essential platform for people to engage with knowledge, stories and ideas and this success has taken Podcasts from the realm of a cutesy, cottage-industry to a legitimate digital platform with consistent,
mutual growth in audience-size and advertising.

Bastion Collective, one of Australia’s largest independent agencies, is also one of the first Australian agencies to launch its own podcast,
Life Collective – How to make life work.

Hosted by Bastion COO Michelle Cox and Head of Brand Strategy Kristen Boschma, the first series of Life collective is on iTunes https://www.bastioncollective.com/about/ and has drawn upon the
considerable talent from within Bastion’s walls including Director, Hamish McLachlan; Research division, Bastion Latitude CEO, Dianne Gardiner; PR & Communication department, Bastion Effect CEO, Richard Chapman;
Head of Digital, Karalee Evans, as they offer interesting and often amusing tips, tricks and yarns about how to make life work.

“Life Collective addresses issues that affect people day in and day out.” commented Michelle Cox.

“It’s a chance for us to reveal the essence of the people behind the profile pictures on the website. There are some high profile and fascinating people who work for, or are clients of Bastion,
and they often struggle with many of life’s challenges, just like the rest of us.

“A podcast provides an opportunity for Bastion to reveal different sides of our brand and personality. We have so many different personalities, ethnicities and perspectives within the collective of businesses. It’s
fantastic that we can provide a different format for them to have a voice about things they are passionate about” Cox went on to say.

Kristen Boschma added “Life Collective allows us to investigate and delve into the issues that affect our clients, their staff and their consumers. We want to create a bridge between brands and consumers on issues
that are close to both parties.

“For example in Season Two we are looking at the issue of finding your first job. We think it’s important for younger people to have a place to tell it like is; they are not the dreamy, entitled Millennials that they are portrayed
as in mainstream media. We hope that by understanding their perspective, businesses might approach recruiting and talent retention a bit differently if they are having trouble in that area.”
