JCDecaux and Southern Cross Station sign exclusive advertising rights contract
JCDecaux, has won the exclusive advertising rights for Southern Cross Station in Melbourne, following a competitive tender process.
Having been supplying the station with advertising solutions since 2007, JCDecaux and Southern Cross Station’s new contract will see the media owner fully digitise the transport hub’s ad assets.
Not only will this include the installation of two additional digital, full-motion large format screens (with one of them boasting a size of 9m x 5m), but it will also see the station’s small format screens replaced with digital displays.
The agency’s executive general manager – commercial, Bronwyn Clementson, said the renewed partnership will continue to drive JCDecaux’s presence within Melbourne, while allowing brands to continue marketing campaigns with impact.
“JCDecaux’s Melbourne presence has never been stronger, with best-in-class advertising solutions including our newly launched JCDecaux ICON, the West Gate Freeway, and the esteemed Young & Jackson,” Clementson said.
“We are pleased to be continuing our long-standing partnership with Southern Cross Station and contribution to Melbourne’s thriving advertising landscape.
“Through our market-leading solutions, including our high-impact Station Domination opportunity, advertising at Southern Cross Station allows brands to create memorable marketing experiences that drive conversations and influence behaviour.”
JCDecaux is no stranger to commuter and transport advertising assets. The agency’s rail catalogue already hosts major train-related entities including Queensland Rail, Adelaide Railway Station, Perth Transport Authority and Sydney Trains.
It comes after the OOH company rolled out “one of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest digital format screens” at St Kilda Junction last month, before being announced as the exclusive media partner of Sydney Airport a few days later.
The agency’s work with Southern Cross Station will begin on July 1, 2024.
