Business Development Manager

To support PR Newswire’s further expansion in Australia, we are looking for energetic and motivated candidates to develop new business and oversee existing clients in this region.

– Primary Duties & Responsibilities –
As a Business Development Manager, your mission is to create a book of business via prospecting and closing net-new accounts in the Australia region plus manage existing accounts within your territory. This hybrid role allows the Business Development Manager to then continue to oversee these net-new accounts. Your success will be dependent upon your ability to prospect net-new business through networking events, referrals, cold-calling and any other means necessary. Your polished written and verbal communication skills will be important when engaging prospects and existing clients to effectively differentiate our services and value proposition from the competition.

• Performing cold calls to generate sales leads
• Qualify leads (both self-generated and via marketing)
• Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities
• Proactively and regularly calls on new and existing customers to drive business conversations to uncover new opportunities, monitor product usage, issues and competitive activity, ensuring a high rate f revenue retention and product renewal.
• Developing sales proposals and making presentations to prospects, including c-level audiences
• Working across a variety of customer segment, develop new business sales across marketing, corporate communications, public relations and/or investor relations segments through telephone, email, and via face to face meetings
• Building strong and broad relationships with multiple points of contacts at each account (e.g., communications, social media, marketing, Investor relations, senior leadership) based upon the ability to add value to their business.
• Reaching or exceeding specific quarterly and annual targets by achieving pre-set criteria on revenue generated, with primary focus on outbound wire distribution, multimedia services and corporate workflow solutions/ platforms.
• Managing the sales-cycles and presenting value on our enterprise SaaS applications
• Providing regular (weekly, monthly and ad hoc) feedback of sales activities to the Supervisor, including client wins/losses, competition activities, and product feedback

– Desired Skills and Experience –
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• 3-5 years of new business sales development experience, preferably in the relevant industries such as corporate communications, marketing, public relations, investor relations, advertising and/or media sales;
• A solid track record of consistently delivering or exceeding sales targets and other relevant KPIs;
• High level of self-motivation, energy and accountability; ability to work both independently and as a team in a fast-paced working environment;
• Competent in territory management
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; mature and engaging personalities;
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Ability to travel to client sites daily, with the potential for travel
• Proficiency in Internet and PC software, esp. MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
• User knowledge and experience in CRM system is preferred. Siebel or Salesforce or Goldmine is an advantage
• Keen interest in industry & business news and understanding of multimedia and social media
