Job Description

The Digital Designer will work closely alongside senior designers, art directors and creative directors to produce Award winning work. This role is client-facing in partnership with a senior copywriter to deliver data-driven UX/UI elements and design in a rapid test-and-learn setting.

Key Responsibilities

– Participate in end-to-end delivery of creative work from planning to brief writing and creative execution within an agile scrum model
– Conceptualise, create and design digital assets including websites, eDMs, digital banners
– Design and storyboard online ads
– Create and update eDM templates, style guides, branding elements, original graphics, icons, illustrations and some animation
– Pro-actively contribute to team building initiatives, and contribute to team culture
– Adhere to project deadlines: delivery of project tasks within project schedule expected to be 100%
– Inspire and collaborate with your co-workers to produce thoughtful, relevant -work for global bluechip clients
– Lead client presentations and liaise directly with clients on a daily basis including daily standups
– Participate in planning and strategic meetings with internal teams
– Understand and work within project parameters: client goals and requirements, internal goals, usability, technical constraints, as well as budget and schedule
– Oversee and contribute to the production of your designs in all phases
– Adapt well to the fast-paced changes in projects with your team as they occur

Required Skills

– An understanding of artistic fundamentals, including line, form, texture, colour and how these affect users
– Knowledge of typographic fundamentals
– The ability to sketch out ideas in a clear communicative way
– An understanding of common web useability and accessibility issues
– An understanding of brand fundamentals
– Advanced user of desktop publishing applications including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop.
– An understanding of basic UX principles
– Experience in agile scrum model (preferred but not essential)
– Experience designing Mobile apps (and familiar with Google and IOS design principles)
– Be able to create working prototypes using tools such as Axure, Sketch or Invision
– Knowledge of content management systems (preferred but not essential)

Qualifications

– A minimum 2+ years working as a designer in a web development firm and/or marketing/advertising agency
– A bachelor’s degree in graphic design and/or industry experience
– Advanced skills in Adobe Suite (illustrator, photoshop, indesign, dreamweaver and after effects.)
– A natural design sense for digital: layout, typography and imagery
– Broad understanding of user experience and UI practices
– Experience in presenting and rationalising creative solutions to clients
– Excellent attention to detail is critical
