Marketing Communications Associate

R/GA Australia is looking for a Marketing Communications Associate to support regional strategy by maximising local exposure and helping position and promote the agency in the market.

Working across the Sydney and Melbourne offices, you will reporting to the Director of Communications, APAC, maintain a dotted-line to the Managing Director, R/GA Sydney and collaborate closely with the executive team.

The role will support all internal and external communications efforts – from brainstorming creative story and content angles and spearheading proactive media and event outreach, to responding to inbound requests and helping with the coordination, writing and production of associated materials. You’ll also be involved in the production of other content including case studies, RFPs, presentation decks, awards entries and social media posts.

You will be integral to driving brand awareness, building company culture and affecting business impact in two of the most dynamic and fast-growing offices within our network.

Responsibilities

Drive execution of strategy with emphasis on corporate innovation, as well as develop strategies and tactics to build awareness in the market
Provide a strong POV on the development of key messaging
Prepare all written press materials
Build relationships with industry and non-industry/mainstream media
Build and maintain a calendar of industry awards and events
Help organize, promote, and represent the agency at events in partnership with business development
Assist in preparing materials and coordination of awards entries
Partner with team to propose and draft thought leadership editorial and presentations
Produce content for internal communications channels and R/GA social channels
Oversee media monitoring and tracking
Update R/GA’s website with news, events, and press announcements
The ideal person

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
2+ years experience in Public Relations or Marketing, inhouse or agency
Background in Journalism a bonus
Able to work in a professional, fast-paced environment and be willing to deal with shifting priorities.
Strong written and verbal communications skills – must be a solid writer
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
Working knowledge of Cision and other PR tools
