National Publicist

NBCUniversal International Networks has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Publicist to join their marketing team as National Publicist, ANZ.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Digital Publishing, ANZ, you will be responsible for developing NBCUniversal’s PR strategy and executing all PR lead campaigns for E!, Universal TV, Bravo (NZ), SYFY, Style and 13th Street.

Candidates will have significant experience in publicity, talent management and communications within the entertainment industry across Australia (and ideally NZ); with a track record of creating and delivering large scale PR campaigns across both digital and traditional media. To be successful in this role, you be confident, enthusiastic and have a passion for content and pop culture with the ability to ‘think outside the square’.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement strategic communications/PR objectives and strategies to reinforce brand strategies and business objectives across Australia and New Zealand.
Implementation of all consumer and trade PR campaigns including press tours, events and digital and talent lead initiatives across ANZ
Develop story ideas and initiatives to pitch interviews and features to national media.
Work with Central PR team to secure talent interviews for priority programming and project manage local talent tours, junkets, photoshoots and events as required.
Plan and execute integrated PR campaigns for major programming/channel launches.
Working with the central team, draft all communications documents (press kits, promotional tools, key messages, holding statements, Q&A, briefs consumer and trade press releases etc.)
Identify strategic opportunities to raise the profile of the business via Senior Management and prepare Senior Management/designated spokespeople to support trade communications.
Partner with Ad Sales to ensure ad sales team is supported with trade PR.
Work closely with the Digital and Marketing teams to maximise digital publicity
Develop and maintain strong relationships with local media across broadcast, print, online and digital.
Monitor and evaluate all media coverage to track local success and share with Central PR team.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including: Australian and New Zealand media, local and international talent agents, affiliate partners and internal communications teams in APAC, UK and US.

ABOUT YOU:
Significant experience in publicity, talent management and communications within the entertainment industry across Australia. Ideally you will also have exposure to the NZ market.
Comprehensive understanding of overall communications perspective and key challenges, issues and trends in the media industry – both within Australia and internationally.
Strong stakeholder management experience in working with senior executives and communications contacts.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Enthusiastic and flexible; able to deal with change and manage self under pressure.
Solid understanding of social media and the application of publicity across the digital platform.
Highly creative with an appreciation for high quality, stylish creative work
