Klarna expands retailers and app features in time for Christmas

Global shopping service and payments provider Klarna has launched a new in-store app feature and expanded retailers in Australia.

Klarna’s new ‘iOS price drop widget’ is designed to give consumers information on the latest deals and sales.

To launch the new features and coverage the brand held a runway show at a Westfield’s in Sydney, with models holding QR codes to direct viewers to Klarna’s ultimate festive wish lists, curated by Nadia Fairfax, Elliott Garnaut and Kellie Hush.

Nadia Fairfax, Fran Ereira and Elliott Garnaut pose alongside models as part of Klarna’s Uncensored Runway at Westfield Bondi Junction.

The featured outfits are available for purchase on the Klarna app, which allows consumers to follow and share wish lists, as well as set up price-drop alerts.

Klarna Australia’s marketing director, Andrea Darling, said: “Klarna revolutionised online shopping in Australia by being the first to offer buy now pay later at any online retailer through our app, and today we elevated the concept of ‘shopping the runway’ with a catwalk show to inspire, delight and encourage shoppers to back our local retail sector.

“We want shoppers to be in control of their spending while getting access to all of the best products and brands in a simple and tailored way, all from the comfort of home or now, when they go in store.”

Shoppers can ‘Pay in 4’ with Klarna at any retailer, both in store and online, following that addition of Klarna to supermarkets, grocery stores and pharmacies (in-store only) in Australia.

Klarna also announced today $150,000 worth of free valet parking to shoppers who spends $150 in-store using Klarna at any of the nine Westfield centres nationwide that offer valet.
