MAFS boys night out chaos helps Nine to dominate overall share

Nine’s Married At First Sight (MAFS) has again topped metro TV viewership, bolstering Nine’s 12 point lead in total share for Tuesday evening.

The episode brought in 898,000 metro viewers, near doubling the next ranking entertainment program, as one of the husbands was caught speaking behind his wife’s back on a boys night out.

Nine’s A Current Affair brought in 634,000 metro viewers, while ABC News saw 554,000 tune in and ABC’s 7:30 had 473,000 metro viewers.

In entertainment programming, Seven’s The Chase Australia came in second place, bringing in 464,000 metro viewers, ahead of Ten’s Australian Survivor, which saw 456,000 tune in.

Next was Seven’s Home and Away, with 435,000 metro viewers, followed by Nine’s The Hundred with Andy Lee, on 409,000.

Seven’s new format We Interrupt This Broadcast launched to 379,000 metro viewers, while Nine’s Hot Seat had 353,000 metro viewers.

The #1 news program on Tuesday night was Seven News with 840,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News at 6:30 with 837,000, Nine News at 6:30 with 760,000 and Nine News with 739,000.

As mentioned, Nine Network took the top spot again with an overall network share of 36%, followed by Seven with 23.8%, Ten with 17.0% and ABC with 15.2%.

The top-rated primary channel was Nine with 28%, but the top-rated multichannel was 7Two with 3.3%.

In the latest Daily Consolidated 7 Total TV Report for 21 February, MAFS last Tuesday was the #1 program nationally with 1.857 million Total TV viewers, including 592,000 on BVOD and the biggest uplift of 60%.
