The Victorian Department of Education launches marketing push to drive teacher recruitment

The Victorian Department of Education has launched a campaign to drive teacher recruitment, ‘Teach the Future’.

The campaign positions the profession as one to be proud of, given the difference teachers make on the lives of young people.

The campaign targets school leavers, undergraduates and recent graduates and will direct them to a website with more information about the teaching career. Effectiveness will be measured through the percentage-reach of the target audience, website hits and overall campaign feedback.

A 30 second spot will air on TV and cinema, a 15 second will appear on TV and video on demand. The campaign will also be executed across social channels, radio, digital, press, OOH, print collateral and event branding.

The campaign has been created communications agency, Think HQ.

Think HQ founder and managing director, Jen Sharpe, said in a statement: “I have such massive respect for teachers, so we really wanted this to be a celebration of them. Everyone remembers their favourite teacher. So for us, that’s exactly what this is about – finding the next generation of favourite teachers.”

In August, Think HQ announced its acquisition of multi-cultural communications and community engagement consultancy, Culture Verse.
