Men go to work on Atomic iPhone stunt
Kudos to media agency Atomic 212 for managing to get a lot of media attention for sending a ‘robot’ (or iPad on wheels) to queue up for a new iPhone.
The agency’s boss Jason Dooris told AdNews the stunt had been picked up by ‘1200’ global media outlets, not a bad result.
And there’s one image which shows an ordinary punter getting a selfie with the gadget, showing how curious punters were about it which managed to make websites including Sky News, Pedestrian TV, Mashable, Engadget and even digital.rg.ru.
But Dr Mumbo couldn’t help but notice that ordinary punter dressed up in a parka and baseball cap bares more than a passing resemblance to Michael Willcocks, an account director at PR agency Men at Work which Atomic hired to push the stunt.
Either that, or he’s created a selfie taking robot in his own image…
Classic.
For their next trick they might buy an iphone….online.

I went and got one the next day. Didn’t need to queue or sellotape an ipad to a broomhandle. I didn’t get any media coverage cos you know what – I was buying a phone. I went and got some milk on the way home and didn’t get any coverage for that either.
My mate went better and used one of those computer things to buy one online. It is called e-commerce apparently and it is all the rage.
