Austereo breakfast host Matt Tilley hospitalised after road smash
Austereo’s Melbourne market leading radio station Fox FM is temporarily without breakfast host Matt Tilley after he was involved in a collision with a car while riding his bike over the weekend.
The accident happened in St Kilda, leaving him with two fractured vertebrae, renal contusion and a fractured rib.
He has since been released from The Alfred Hospital.
In a statement, the radio company said: “Austereo management has urged Matt to take as long as he needs to get back on his feet.”
Tilley took part in a phone interview with co-presenter Jo Stanley this morning. He said: “I was riding along past the St Kilda Sea Baths… and got knocked off my bike by a guy who swung across the bike lane… and just ‘smash’. And I sort of did the human tumbleweed along the road for a while.”

You’ve gotta love radio jocks – doing live crosses from the Alfred A+E… they mix it up. And this guy, from all I’ve read, is pretty quick. All the best Matt. You’re a funny bugger.
