Zuji Dave to take away anti-holiday excuses
Travel company Zuji has launched a new website aimed at overcoming people’s excuses for not taking a break.
The site – nomoreexcuses.com.au features “Zuji Dave” who attempts to tackle every excuse. If the customer choosses the “I have to keep vampires from attacking the house” option, he arrives on screen clutching stakes and garlic; if catsitting is needed, he reappears with a fluffy toy mouse.
The site – aimed at promoting short breaks in Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong – has been created by Sydney agencies The Hallway and Happy Soldiers. The campaign is supported by online advertising, social media, print and PR activity.
Meanwhile, The Hallway and Happy Soldiers’ Zuji Beans campaign is currently a finalist at both the One Show and The Clio Awards:
I like the concept but not such a huge fan of the execution… not exactly seemless video and the looping is very repetitive.
Full credit to ZUJI giving it a crack though, not many clients would be that brave to go out on a limb like that and the beans. Would be very interesting to see how it translates to traffic and bookings though.

Hopefully they do ads better than they do service.
I had quite possibly the worst customer service experience after I attempted to change the date of three airline tickets.
It took 8 days, multiple phone calls (including some I had to make to Singapore where their customer ‘service’ centre was based), and enormus effort on my part.
Because it took so long to have it finalised, I missed out on the cheaper fares of the week before which ended up costing about $170 per ticket (3 tickets all up).
Hopefully they are under new ownership.
