The new biscuits have hit the market accompanied by a TVC featuring ‘Aussie legends’: actor Shane Jacobson, former Olympians Cathy Freeman and Giaan Rooney, and former Test cricketer Glenn McGrath.
The ad is voiced by Seven personality and sports commentator Bruce McAvaney and riffs off long-running Australian soap opera Neighbours.
It is set in a cul de sac – Legends Lane – and features the various ‘legends’ yard hopping, hanging out and sharing the biscuits.
In March, Campbell Arnott’s appointed Publicis Groupe to handle its creative, media planning, media buying, PR, digital and shopper marketing accounts across APAC. Publicis Groupe took over from the Clemenger Group which had won the account in 2015, with TKT Sydney doing the creative work.
Nailed it.
(Assuming the brief was all round wooden awkwardness. Honestly, this could be added to the next YouTube ‘Cringe Compilation’).

I’m sure like the product itself, the ad leaves a bad taste in your mouth. But it does perfectly reflect the poor SHAPE of the Australian ad industry.

The box marked ‘Pool Room’ is funny – needs more of those touches.
