Shorter Australia’s Perfect Couple fares no better for Nine, but pain ends quicker
Nine’s move to cut the running time of Australia’s Perfect Couple had some success on Wednesday night, giving viewers less time to switch off before it was over.
Unlike last week – when an inherited audience of 1.2m fell to an average of 672,000 over the hour-long battle to find Australia’s best couple – the fall over the shortened half hour version, although precipitous, wasn’t quite as low.
The Jules Lund-hosted show took Nine’s 1.3m audience for Two And A Half Men and turned it into an average of 701,000.
Afterwards, the audience bounced back somewhat for Nine, with RPA pulling in 1.1m.
It was another poor Wednesday night for Ten though, with the network almost being overtaken by the ABC nationally and being beaten into fourth in Sydney.
Seven sailed to victory, with viewers appearing to opt for World’s Strictest Parents in the face of little competition.
- Wednesday night’s share: Seven 27.6%; Nine 25%; Ten 20.9%; ABC 20.6%; SBS 5.9%.
