11Eleven Project premieres at Sydney Town Hall screening

The not for profit organisation The 11Eleven Project is to screen its first documentary, created from footage compiled via social media, at Sydney Town Hall on Friday.

The announcement:

Sydneysiders will be ahead of the world when they get a chance to preview the long
anticipated 11Eleven Project documentary. All members of the community are
invited to Sydney’s Lower Town Hall to share their thoughts and opinions on a project
which been created with the collaboration of people from 179 countries.

The reason why Sydney will lead the way in showcasing the work, is because this
unique worldwide initiative has been headquartered in Sydney under the guidance of
its 30 year old CEO Danielle Lauren. Ms Lauren said “ it’s an honour to give this
film to Sydney as a gift not only to say thank you but as a reminder that Australians
can be players in a global community”.

The 11Eleven Project Documentary basis itself on the auspicious day November 11,
2011, when the calendar aligned to read 11.11.11 – occurring only once every century.
To preserve the memory of this special 24 hours, the world was invited to partake in
this global creative movement by capturing part of their day on video and digital
cameras, mobile phones and audio recorders. Social media platforms such as
Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, Flickr and Youtube, were also utilised.

Submissions were received from 179 countries and are now the contents of a feature-
length documentary film. Everything you see and hear (including the soundtrack) was
all recorded on 11/11/11. Exposing a chronological reveal of different global stories,
will give viewers a unique chance to discover both the ordinary and extraordinary of
what life is like on earth. “This is not a film about our planet and it is a film about our
people” Ms. Lauren proudly exclaims.

Focusing on the truest sense of community and collaboration, Ms Lauren will turn to
the people of Sydney to have their final say on the 11Eleven Project Documentary.
“We are all working together – the film and the audience – this is a shared experience
which will give all audience members a chance to have their voices heard”.
