Tim and Eric film to get Australian premiere at Sydney Underground Film Festival
The first feature film from irreverent American comedians Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job, is to get its Australian premiere at the Sydney Underground Film Festival.
It will also open the event.
Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie sees the pair given a billion dollars to create a movie but wastes every cent.
The film, which also sees guests Will Ferrell, Zack Galifiniakis, Jeff Goldblum and John C Reilly, follows the duo as they aim to pay the money back to the evil Schlaaang corporation.
The Sydney Underground Film Festival has announced over 100 local and international films in its line-up, include The Fourth Dimension, a branded content three part film from directors Harmony Korine, Alexy Fedorchenko and Jan Kwiecinksi for beer brand Grolsch.
Australian online video creator Mr Doodleburger will bring his Home and Away lampooning series Mr Doodleburger presents New Summer Bay Slaughter to the big screen. Doodleburger will then hold a Q&A session after the screening.
James Franco’s Francophrenia (or: Don’t Kill Me, I Know Where the Baby Is) directed by the 127 Hours actor and Ian Olds as an experimental documentary shot on June 24 2010 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles.
The Sydney Underground Film Festival, now in its sixth year will screen at Marrickville’s Factory Theatre from 6-9 September with over 100 local and international films.
It’s amazing how from it’s very first year upwards, SUFF has outgunned MUFF, which has remained stagnant and almost lifeless despite the brand-name it has built over 13 years. This Tim & Eric win is another example, plus the festival has built just the right audience that will respond to it in droves. Well done guys.
