Hey dummies, want to learn social media?
So these social media gurus? Sorry, social media “goddesses”… When they teach classes, are they required to respect their students?
Dr Mumbo’s just wondering…
So are others:
Dr Mumbo is curious whether the University of Sydney her university in Sydney has any sort of social media code of conduct for how tutors talk about students in public fora. If not, perhaps they know a social media guru who could help them write one…
Hey Mumbles,
The class is having a laugh and waves and says hi! 😉
Not at Uni of Sydney btw.
We were trolling for trolls. Happy to have found one. Great exercise for my private 3 Day intensive advanced social media class. Happy to give away a ticket to the next one if you’d like to learn about fact research, objectivity and sense of humour 😉
Love and kisses

Leonard: Wow. How do you get an entire lecture hall to flip you off at the same time?
Howard: Apparently, if you’re Sheldon, all you need to do is turn your back.

Correction should be “a public 3 day course for small business being run on hired University campus premises in Sydney”.

Hello class, I’m your new tutor. Now, everyone, say you’re an idiot. Say it. Say you’re an idiot. Why aren’t you smiling while you say it? Aren’t you enjoying this class? Would you like to fail? No? Then smile — no, /laugh/ — laugh while you you’re an idiot.
Well done, class.

Thank you all for coming class. I’m very excited to be taking your money and offering you this essential course for anyone who is anyone on social media. You see I am a social media educator – comprehensively trained in…social media.
You think you can tweet, but you know nothing of the tweet until you have taken my course. One must study to become proficient at social media, it isn’t as easy as just posting content you would like to share.
Now, since you have all paid many hundreds of dollars to be here, let’s begin with a very important lesson. I’ll post a tweet intended to draw people’s ire. When I get a response it will illustrate how amazing I am at trolling, one of the advanced social media skills. You can sign up for my next course, just $999 for an afternoon session, in which we learn more about trolling (I’ll show you how to do it on Facebook, VERY tricky stuff).
See you all in the classroom, stupids!

Is this the same @silkcharm that continually insults award winners?
Is this the same @silkcharm that continually has a go at others but then thinks its ok because she outs an emoticon at the end of her sentences?
Is this the same @silkcharm that no agency would go near hiring?
Just asking.

Is this one of those courses where you pay the instructor in cash at the end of your day?
Also seriously, following 51k people? Been on some #followback sprees, have we?

“Trolling for trolls”? I’m can’t believe people are paying for this nonsense …

Did you know rabbits only make a noise when they are seriously injured, or a few moments before death. It’s guttural.

i love the way @silkcharm is trying to cover her screw up here… and the response seems to run slightly contrary to her own model (profile>identity>reputation>trust)
i agree that no organisation with any sense would go near her. she is a serial self promoter that seems to have no real idea how to drive a social media brand building campaign. the MO seems to be slam someone and hope that they then come begging to her for some business…it’s just not the way real brands work LP.
btw ‘Forbes top 50 social media influencer? Funny, couldnt find her on the list:

Isn’t insulting these people in the comments here the same as what you’re angry at them for? Just sayin’.

How appropriate that it’s called twitter.

Back up everybody, as any self proclaimed I mean self respecting social media goddess would tell you, insulting people (and then back pedling as necessary) is social media 101.
We just got a free lesson.
Serious question: anybody know of any studies measuring the preponderance of troll usage in social? ie percentages of negative or insulting vs neutral vs positve or supportive?
Ms Papworth?
