Brands celebrate the return of the Ashes to Australia
A number of brands have seized on Australia’s cricketers snatching back The Ashes yesterday with tactical print ads.
Cricket Australia took out a full page ad wishing Australia a “Merry Christmas”, with the Ashes urn gift wrapped as the central image, and thanks the Australian public for its support of their team.
The Commonwealth Bank, an official commercial partner of Cricket Australia, took the opportunity to make the most of it’s slogan “can” with the message “When you believe you can, you can”.
BWS took a more retail approach to celebrating the ashes, promoting its Victoria Bitter special with the tagline “Today you’ll raise a glass, as our boys raise the urn”. Victoria Bitter is also the official beer of the Australian cricket team and Cricket Australia.
