Parks and Wildlife offers island giveaway to drive events
The National Parks and Wildlife Service has launched a campaign giving away one of Sydney’s picturesque harbour islands for a day in a bid to drive awareness of national parks as events venues.
The unusual campaign aimed at events promoters, and marketing, creative and advertising agencies, is urging people to enter with creative ideas about how they would use free reign on an island for the day.
A spokesperson for the NPWS said national parks properties often flew under the radar as events venues or places where creative visions could be brought to life.
“There is limited awareness of the availability of viable event sites within our 850 national parks,” the spokesperson said.
“Each of the seven event sites that we are showcasing with this promotion provides a very different offering and they can host everything from a product launch to a fashion event or live music event.”
Islands being promoted in the campaign include Goat Island, Shark Island, Rodd Island, Clark Island, Scheyville, Greenfield Beach and Middle Head and people can enter the competition through the campaign’s website here.
Great idea with possibly the worst most off brand art direction I’ve seen. The islands are wonderlands full of discovery. Not Bondi beach clubs.

Excellent to see someone having the balls to widen the marketing strategy of these stunning locations. Take note other event spaces!
