Kieran Moore becomes Ogilvy PR Australia chair, Richard Brett promoted to CEO
Ogilvy PR has announced a series of promotions which will see Kieran Moore move on from her role as CEO to become chair of the Australian Ogilvy PR operation.
Taking over Moore’s role as CEO of Ogilvy PR is Richard Brett, who has been promoted from his current role as deputy CEO.
Moore has been the CEO of Ogilvy PR for seven years, after being promoted from managing director of Ogilvy-owned Howorth Communications.
“I learnt a long time ago, that a strong leadership team will evolve from offering great opportunities to the right people at the right time,” Moore said.
“In the past five years Ogilvy PR has grown to be the largest PR company in Australia. During that time, we have hired amazing people, won a fantastic bunch of clients, won awards, created a great culture and established an amazing reputation in the Australian marketplace.”
In her new role, Moore will spend 30% of her time dedicated to the Ogilvy PR business, which includes Ogilvy PR Health, Howorth, Ogilvy Impact, Parker & Partners, Pulse and social@Ogilvy.
With her remaining time, Moore will focus on her role as WPP AUNZ CEO of PR and PA.
In other promotions for the agency, Jacqui Abbott is set to become the managing director of Pulse Communications.
For the past 10 months Abbott has been the deputy managing director of Pulse Communications, which is part of Ogilvy Public Relations.
“Her client service experience across both corporate and consumer communications both in Australia and the UK has meant she has made an outstanding contribution to Ogilvy over the years. On the strong foundation that Richard has built, I look forward to watching Jacqui manage the Pulse business to even greater success,” Moore added.
Meanwhile, Kaz Scott, the former strategy and planing director at Ogilvy PR, will take on the new role as chief influencer officer.
Caitriona Circosta has also been hired as Ogilvy PR’s new finance director. She was previously the finance and operations director at Nova Entertainment.
Huge congratulations to Richard……completely deserved. And take a big bow Kieran. You have done an outstanding job building a great business. When we launched the unique Ogilvy PR model in April 2001, critics warned it would fail once the earn-outs of the businesses we had bought ended. What they did not take into consideration was the calibre of ‘next generation’ leadership that could take a model that had great strengths and – yes- serious weaknesses, and mould it into the powerhouse it is today.
