Fox Sports’ Andrew McKinlay returns to Ten as sports editor
Fox Sports’ chief of production and editorial manager, Andrew McKinlay, has joined Ten as the network’s sports editor.
McKinley has spent the last eight years at Fox Sports, managing online content and organising live television for the sports network.
In his time with Fox Sports, McKinley handled stories including Lance Armstrong’s doping scandal, Muhammad Ali’s death, and the London and Rio Olympic Games.
Prior to joining Fox Sports, McKinley was national sports editor at Network Ten but the majority of his career was spent at Nine as a sports reporter and news producer.
His move comes as Fox Sports and Foxtel finalise a merger, which was announced more than six months ago.
Beverley McGarvey, Network Ten’s chief content officer, welcomed McKinlay back to the network.
“Local, national and international sport is a critically important part of our news coverage and we look forward to Andrew leading our already strong sports news department,” she said.
McKinley said he looked forward to leading the new team.
“It’s been a wonderful eight-year ride at Fox Sports. But these are exciting times to be joining Ten, with new ownership reinforcing the network’s image as a top-gun player in News and Sport,” McKinley said.
Ten also announced today that Ross Dagan, Al Jazeera English’s executive producer for news, will return to the network as director of news content in May.
