Hootsuite reshuffles Australian leadership team

Social media management platform Hootsuite has shaken up its Australian marketing team with Heather Cook appointed managing director and head of sales and Pamela Kemp to lead marketing in Australia and New Zealand.

Kemp replaces former head of marketing Benjamin Mulligan, who left the business in September 2018, while Cook joins after stints at Marketo and Oracle.

Cook was previously Marketo’s APAC sales director

Roger Graham, head of Asia for Hootsuite, said of the appointments which took place late last year: “Our ANZ brand and customers are extremely important to us at Hootsuite, and this is reflected in the strong relationships we have built with our community of digital marketers.”

Cook added: “My career has closely followed new technology development and market trends. I’m passionate about leading and supporting companies as they transform their business in order to leverage these technologies.

“Social and genuine personalised engagement is the way forward and Hootsuite is the global leader in this space so it’s exciting to be a part of leading that conversation.”

Kemp, who was previously head of digital marketing at Auckland-based 9 Spokes, said: “Technology and psychology are rapidly converging and, when applied correctly, tech has the capability to help people, causes, brands and businesses connect and develop stronger relationships.

“Hootsuite and my profession has been at the forefront of this evolution and I love being a part of enabling these connections and seeing the positive impact they have on people and communities.”
