The announcement:

Go Transit Media Group continues expansion with acquisition of major competitor

Go Transit Media Group has reaffirmed its position as one of the fastest growing media companies in Australia with the purchase of Sydney based transit media company, Bus Advertising.

Go Transit is headed by former radio executives Rob Gamble & Rick Chapman and majority owned by Associated Media Investments. The company now operates in more than 85 regional markets across the eastern seaboard.

“This acquisition will almost double the size of our business and we are excited to add large regional markets such as the Hunter Valley, Wollongong, Canberra, Wagga and Tasmania to our existing fleet. We now basically have a geographic reach from Cairns to Hobart.”

“We have been overwhelmed with the demand for our product and this has given us the ability to rapidly grow the business, the purchase of Bus Advertising fills in some important gaps for us across regional Australia. It also provides advertisers with a single point of contact for transit media across regional Australia,” Mr Gamble said.

Mr Gamble said the takeover is effective immediately and the additional 45 markets acquired through the acquisition of Bus Advertising would add more than 2,500 buses to the Go Transit metropolitan and regional footprint.

“As a result of this expansion we will also be looking to increase our staffing levels in administration, production and particularly sales to cater for this growth and we expect to speak to some quality candidates in the near future,” Mr Gamble said.
