Second series of A Place to Call Home for Seven
Channel Seven has commissioned a second series of TV drama A Place to Call Home.
The announcement:
Channel Seven today announced its critically acclaimed drama A Place to Call Home has been commissioned for a second series.
The number one new drama of 2013 – which premiered to a national audience of 2.6 million* people – has been a huge hit amongst critics and audiences alike.Brad Lyons, Director of Network Production, said the decision reaffirmed Seven’s commitment to local drama. “A Place to Call Home has showcased drama on a scale never seen before on Australian television,” he said. “It’s pleasing to see such an ambitious production receive the acclaim it deserves.”
Australians have been completely swept away by the 1950s drama created by Bevan Lee for the Seven Network.
“The story of A Place to Call Home is far from told by the end of series one,” Bevan stated. “So I am thrilled we are able to continue the saga of Sarah Adams and the Bligh family in a second compelling season, thanks to the show being enthusiastically embraced by our fans.”
Pre-production on season two is already under way with shooting to commence later this year.
A Place to Call Home reaches its epic climax this Sunday July 21 at 8.30pm. In the closing scene one of them will die.
The complete box set of series one will be available on Blu-ray™ and DVD from August 8 through Universal Sony Pictures.

At least I have Winners and Losers to keep me going until the 2nd series of A Place to Call Home. Noni Hazelhurst is brilliant, absolutely brilliant and believable. The rest of the cast are too. I absolutely love them all. What top actors here in Australia. Writers and production team superb. I will miss them until they return. Please hurry up with Season 2 and beyond.
