Jessica Rowe returns to Ten as panelist on Studio 10
Network Ten’s former newsreader Jessica Rowe will return to the network as the fourth member of new mid-morning panel show Studio 10.
Rowe joins panelists Ita Buttrose, Joe Hildebrand and Sarah Harris, marking a return to the network eight years after she left News at Five to move to Nine’s Today show and a court battle ensued in an attempt to prevent it.
Rowe co-hosted Network Ten’s First at Five News for ten years before she left in 2005 to co-host Nine’s Today show. She was then infamously “boned” from the Nine Network and moved to Channel Seven to present the news on Weekend Sunrise.
Rob McKnight, executive producer of Studio Ten, said: “As soon as viewers see Jess interact with Ita, Joe and Sarah, they’ll see why we chose her to be part of the team. Jess brings a strong journalistic background to the role. She will not be afraid to take on the rest of the panel and stand up for what she believes in. We’ve searched far and wide for our fourth panellist. Jessica Rowe was an absolute standout and I’m thrilled she is joining the Studio 10 family.”
Rowe said: “I love a chat, and as someone who has always worn my heart and opinions on my sleeve, it’s an honour and thrill to be part of the fantastic Studio 10 team. What a privilege to work with the iconic Ita Buttrose, the oddly charming Joe Hildebrand and the naughty but nice newshound Sarah Harris. Ten has always held a very special place in my heart, and it’s exciting to be given this wonderful opportunity.”
Studio 10 will debut later this year as part of Network Ten’s new morning line-up under director of morning television Adam Boland and will follow breakfast program Wake Up broadcast from the Queenscliff Life Saving Club in Manly. Studio 10 from Ten’s Sydney studios at Pyrmont and feature an in-the-round set and a live studio audience.
Thrilled for Jess! She’s a wasted talent on Weekend Sunrise. Wonder if she’s now finished up there?

Oh gawd. Did Ten see Jessica Rowe on the other channel’s morning programmes before rehiring her? She added nothing of substance to the conversation.

@ Viewer
“mid-morning panel show” – substance not required.

Interestingly (or sadly, whichever way you wish to look at it) Jessica was maybe 4-5 years too early for the Today Show.
These days she would be right at home on the show with Karl, Ben and the rest of the mad-cap gang of mischief makers.

What a terrible decision Ten will live to regret. Rowe will drive them all nuts. She’s unbearable to watch.

A return to the home of the slightly talented – she’ll fit right back in. If TEN gets a talented on-air person, they bone them…Bill Woods for example.

Lots of big decisions are being made before Meakin starts. Will he just reverse all the bad ones in a couple of months?

I like Jessica, she seems to be lovely. I wish her the very best on her new programme.

Of all the poor to average programming that Ten has served up to viewers over the last 2 years, Studio Ten and Wake Up have shown the most intiative and potential to attract an audience.
However after the Ita announcement the talent has gone down hill. Jessica Rowe was parked on news on Sunrise weekends because she is a good newreader but apart from that there is not alot to be interested in. Why do Ten always start with a good idea and slowly over time ruin it with poor implementation?
