NRL partner up Nate Myles and Paul Gallen in awkward meeting to promote mental health awareness
The NRL has set up Queensland’s Nate Myles and NSW captain Paul Gallen in an awkward car park meeting to encourage men to talk about mental health issues.
It follows on from the pair’s fight in the Origin series opener last year.
Created by MJW, the coupling of the players comes at a time when Gallen has admitted to being embarrassed about the incident.
In 30 and 60 second executions running across social media, with a TV launch planned, the spots encourage men to go to the State of Mind website where they’ll find information and links to organisations and services that can help.

No-one could ever say that this ad wasn’t all about depression. After watching it I wanted to cry. AWFUL even by NRL standards

I think this is perfect. Well done to all involved. Maastermind – get a clue.

When you just HAVE to make a 60″ and not a 30″. The power of silence. Top marks.

Didn’t know these two had ‘history’ but that makes it even better. Probably didn’t need the self-referential acknowledgement of standing in the car park, but it’s still very, very good.

A piece of work that could very well connect with its target audience – “awkward blokes”.
Great stuff from a firm producing effective work.

What’s awkward is you’ve spelt both their names wrong – Nate MYles and Paul GallEn.

@Stevo&Wayno..”I think this is perfect.” Which one of your personalities is voicing that opinion? Any clues?
